Toys and Treats for Shelter Animals Year Round Most of the cats and dogs in animal shelters are victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Dogs and cats living in shelters spend most of their time confined in cages and they get nothing but cheap food and water. Many of them are euthanized because there are no homes for them. Our volunteers visit shelters to give the animals their gifts. They also spend time with them so the animals will know what it feels like to be loved.
